Scully: My father used to read to me from Moby Dick when I was a little girl. I called him Ahab and he called me Starbuck. So I named my dog Queequeg. It's funny, I just realised something.
Mulder: It's a bizarre name for a dog, huh?
Scully: No. How much you're like Ahab. You're so consumed by your personal vengeance against life, whether it be its inherent cruelties or its mysteries, that everything takes on a warped significance to your megalomaniacal cosmology.
Mulder: Scully, are you coming on to me?
Scully: It's just--the truth or a white whale, what difference does it make? Both obsessions are impossible to capture, and trying to do so will only leave you dead, along with everyone else you bring with you. Yeah, Mulder, you are Ahab!
Mulder: You know it's interesting you should say that because I've always wanted a pegleg. It's a boyhood thing I never grew out of. Now I'm not being flippant. I mean, I've given this a lot of thought. If you have a pegleg or hooks for hands you know maybe it's enough to simply carry on living, bravely facing life with your disabilities. It's heroic just to survive. But without these things, you're actually expected to make something of your life, achieve something, earn a raise, wear a necktie. So if anything I'm the antithesis of Ahab, because if I did have a pegleg I'd quite possibly be more happy and more content, and not feel the need to chase after these creatures of the unknown.
Scully: And that's not flippant?
Mulder: No. Flippant is my favourite line from Moby Dick. "Hell is an idea first born on an undigested [Scully mouthing the line as well] apple dumpling."

Part of the reason I love Tokio Hotel is because their fandom is insane. They’re just one of those things that inspire the freaks to come out, I guess, and I love them.
For instance, I would like to point out that Bill and Tom Kaulitz are twins.
This fandom contains a lot of Twincest RPF.
REALLY.
From th_secrets (which is sadly not as hilarious and active as it used to be).

Something that will likely only be funny to me and godzillaslung.

Allow me to explain anyway:

I love that this video is 99.99% Bill Kaulitz. Gustav Schäfer appears maybe once, and his face is completely obscured by the drums (they are going to drive him to suicide one day). The only reason Tom Kaulitz appears as much as he does, I think, is because, save their wardrobes, he is practically indistinguishable from Bill now. IF YOU ARE NOT A HARDCORE TH FAN LIKE I AM, THAT IS.

The best part is Bill’s fucking “Humanoid” ring, and if there is a god in heaven, some douche bag fans will show up with that thing imprinted backwards on their foreheads.

I was afraid they weren’t going to bring the lulz anymore. But I am happy to admit I was wrong.

(This post is dedicated to Billfasa. RIP BB)

Same Sex Marriage Facts of the Day: Not only has same-sex marriage not brought civilization to its knees where it is presently legal, but, in Massachusetts, which legalized same-sex marriage five years ago, the rate of divorce is the lowest in the country — the lowest, in fact, since 1940.

As Rachel Maddow puts it: “Turns out gay marriage is a Defense Of Marriage Act.”
